Despite falling to Iga Swiatek in their Roland Garros (French Open) quarterfinal clash, Coco Gauff received praise for her effort, particularly from retired WTA pro Chris Evert.
Gauff fell in straight sets to the World No.1, in similar fashion to their encounter at last year's Roland Garros final. However, Evert had high praise for the 19-year old, stating that she had made improvements over the past year.
Furthermore, the former World No.1 believes while Gauff's offensive ability was remarkable, the teenager was just as solid on the defensive end.
"Her defense is just as good as her offense," observed Evert.
