Canadian tennis star
Eugenie Bouchard will represent her
country in the upcoming Billie Jean King Cup Finals.
The six-day competition will be begin on November 07 at the
Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville, Spain
The 29-year-old will join the likes of Leylah Fernandez,
Gabriela Dabrowski, Rebecca Marino, and Marina Stakusic in Team Canada.
Bouchard appearance in the competition is a little
surprising, considering she retired from professional tennis in
September earlier this year.
As per different reports, one of the primary reasons for the
decision taken by the Montreal-born was her interest in joining the Pickleball.
Interestingly, the former world number four
Bianca Andreescu
will not appear in the competition.
She is a Grand Slam winner having won the US Open back in
2019 where she defeated the former world number one America’s legendary tennis star Serena Williams in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-5.
Canada is placed in Group C of the competition where they will
go first up against Spain on November eight. Two days later, they will clash
against Poland which will feature the likes of the former world number one and
the four-time Grand Slam winner Iga Swiatek.
