Novak Djokovic continues to be hampered by his injury despite playing amazing tennis and winning matches comfortably and he spoke about it.
Djokovic remains one of the main talking points at the Australian Open because it's the only thing that could really stop him. His tennis is spectacular, especially with the newfound aggressiveness due to the injury. The Serbian looks unlikely to lose a match due to his tennis but the injury could prevent him from moving well and that's one of his major assets.
Speaking after his most recent match, Djokovic said:
“It’s movement, a specific movement that just triggers [pain]. So I pray it [the pain] is not going to happen but it happens every match, so I have to deal with it. I called the physio and got the pills in my system. It helped so far. Not ideal but somehow finding a way. At the end of the day this is high-level professional sport, you’ve got to find a way.”
A grueling matchup against de Minaur awaits him and that's a match where his problem could really cost him. A very quick player around the court, de Minaur won't be hit off the court as easily as other playes. That and a potential long match certainly won't help the injury.
