Murray takes pride after proving doctor who predicted end of career in 2017 wrong

Andy Murray played some of his best tennis since 2017 this year at the Australian Open and he briefly reacted to that on social media with an inspiring message.

Murray initially retired at the Australian Open some years ago but slowly and surely he made his way back to the sport. It was a long way but for Murray, it was worth it. He was happy to see everyone accept that he can still do some damage and it was particularly satisfying when he met a former doctor who predicted his career end.

It happened two days ago and Murray wrote:

"2 days ago, I randomly bumped into the doctor who in 2017 told me 'the good news is the problem you have in your hip can be fixed but you won’t be able to play professional sport again'. I think we dispelled that myth in the last 5 days. Goodnight."
