Among those involved include CoCo Vandeweghe, Kristie Ahn, Qiang Wang and Barbora Strycova. The ties of the first round include Vandeweghe taking on eighth seed Ajla Tomljanovic; as well as Aliaksandra Sasnovich vs Polona Hercog.
For Wang and Strycova, they both receive byes into the second round with the former the number one seed in the tournament and set to face the winner of a match involving two qualifiers.
Qualifying is also currently taking place to fill the rest of the spaces on the draw. Those involved include former World Number 15 Kaia Kanepi; who defeated former Wimbledon finalist, Genie Bouchard and is now on the verge of the main draw.
