The
draw has been made for the
Stuttgart Open also known as the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix which will take place between April 14-21, 2025 as one of the lead warm-up tournaments for Roland Garros.
Aryna Sabalenka is top seed and has never won the title despite many finals. She reached three straight finals between 2021 and 2023 and hilariously attempted to smash in the windows of
Iga Swiatek's Porsche back in 2023.
That is one of the main perks for winning the title and gave Elena Rybakina, the current champion who won't return impetus to learn to drive and a year later she is on the road. Sabalenka will face Anastasia Potapova or Clara Tauson. She would face Diana Shnaider in the Quarter-Finals.
Coco Gauff heads up the second Quarter. She could face Danielle Collins in the second round who like Gauff and Pegula snubbed Billie Jean King Cup duty this week to play Stuttgart this next week. Jasmine Paolini is on the other end of the quarter.
Paolini who soon defends two Grand Slam finals has Marc Lopez in her corner for the next few months. The former coach of Rafael Nadal, the Italian recently ditched Renzo Furlan after 10 years and is seemingly searching for fresh impetus. Laura Siegemund could await her.
Paolini faces Eva Lys to start off with though so it is an all German section the Italian aside.
The third quarter has the potential big tie as Jessica Pegula could face
Mirra Andreeva in the Quarter-Finals. Pegula comes into Stuttgart after winning Charleston and leads the tour with match wins this season after also winning Austin and reaching the Miami final.
Andreeva is not too far behind after winning Dubai and Indian Wells back-to-back before falling to Amanda Anisimova in Miami also one of the stars of the season. She faces Marta Kostyuk in the first round.
Iga Swiatek sits at the bottom of the draw. She has only ever lost one game ever in Stuttgart against Rybakina last year in the semi-finals so is the big favourite. She likely starts against Donna Vekic.
Revenge could be on her mind then as Jelena Ostapenko lurks or it could be Emma Navarro who opens up against Beatriz Haddad Maia. Albeit the Brazilian has been poor this week in Billie Jean King Cup action so it is presumed to be Navarro or Ostapenko.
