World number four
Elena Rybakina has posted a picture with a bunch of bouquets celebrating her 25th birthday.
Kazakhstan’s tennis star is already regarded as one of the best players currently playing in women’s tennis in the singles category, along with Poland’s Iga Swiatek, America’s Coco Gauff, and Belarus’ Aryna
Sabalenka.
Rybakina posted a picture of herself standing with a bunch of bouquets celebrating her 25th birthday on her official account on the social media platform Instagram, captioning the picture: “Thanks everyone for
all kind words and wishes.”
The Moscow-born star is going through a decent season. She
started on a poor note as she was knocked out of the Australian Open after
losing in the second round to Anna Blinkova with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.
She bounced back incredibly in the Abu Dhabi Open as she
went on to lift the title after beating Russia’s Daria Kasatkina with a score
of 6-1, 6-4.
In the Qatar Open, Rybakina had an impressive outing, but her journey came to an end in the final, as she lost to Swiatek 7-6, 6-2. She then played in the Dubai Tennis Championship, where she withdrew before
the start of the quarterfinal against Jasmine Paolini.
Rybakina then took part in the Miami Open where she lost in
the final to America’s Danielle Collins with a score of 7-5, 6-3. She bounced
back in the Stuttgart Open where she lifted the title after beating Ukraine’s Marta
Kostyuk in the final with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
In the Madrid Open, Rybakina once again had a deep run as
she eventually lost in the semifinal to Sabalenka with a score of 1-6, 7-5, 7-5.
Her most recent appearance came in the French Open where she was knocked out in
the quarterfinal to Italy’s Paolini with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
