Elina Svitolina has been on a winning streak that started in Strasbourg last week and it's continuing in Paris at Roland Garros with another good win over Storm Hunter in three sets.
Svitolina has been winning ever since she started to play on French soil and she's now up to 7 wins in a row in France. Her second-round match against Hunter proved a very exciting one with a superb comeback win. She channelled her husband Gael Monfils after he had an incredible comeback win last night and did the same thing he did although her comeback was not as dramatic.

Hunter Shines

The first set wasn't a very good set from the Ukranian but she also faced a really tough player in Hunter. The Australian has a nasty lefty and it was working really well, especially on the second serve of Svitolina which gave her opponent a lot of time to unload a couple of big winners. Hunter had 11 of them in the first set which she won 6-2.

Svitolina comes back

The next two sets weren't as tricky for Ukranian despite falling behind early in the second set. Hunter was up 2-1 with a break in hand and had she won that game to go up 3-1, she probably would have won the match. She didn't allow Svitolina to turn things around and her game completely fell apart with the Ukrainian tennis player taking the second set 6-3 and then the next one 6-1.
Hunter had 17 unforced errors in the second set and 14 in the third set, far more than she had winners and that's not how she was going to win that match. She would always had to outplay Svitolina from the baseline and she didn't. Svitolina moves on to the 3rd round of Roland Garros
