Emma Raducanu baffled by the chance to win SPOTY Award

It's been quite the year for Emma Raducanu who saw her life become pretty much a fairytale in the 2nd part of 2021. It all started with a very solid run at Wimbledon where she showcased her talent before doing something that has never been done at the US Open. Since then it's been a mix of good and bad for Raducanu but the excitement about her is not wavering.

The Brit has a chance to win the Sports Personality of the Year Awards and she does not understand how that is possible:

"I just don’t even think about it. For me, it’s something that’s so far out of the realms of possibility that I just don’t even understand how it could be a possibility.”

Whether Raducanu does indeed win the award remains to be sene but if she does she will be in great company as tennis players who won the award before including the likes of Virginia Wade, Andy Murray, and Greg Rusedski.
