Britain’s tennis star
Emma Raducanu will play in the Kooyong
Classic exhibition competition ahead of the Australian Open.
The 21-year-old has recently returned to the court after a lengthy
layoff because of multiple injuries. It was because of this reason she ended up
missing three out of four Grand Slams in 2023
As per the recent report, Raducanu will take part in an
exhibition competition — Kooyong Classic — which will be played from January 10
and will finish just two days before the start of the Australian Open.
The first Grand Slam of the year will begin from January 14 where
players from all over the world will showcase their talent and battle to secure
the ultimate prize.
Raducanu recently took part in the ASB Classic in Auckland,
New Zealand where her journey came to an end as she lost in the round of 16 to
Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina with a score of 6-7, 7-6, 6-1.
Raducanu broke onto the scene in 2021 as she lifted her
maiden and till now the only Grand Slam title after beating Canada’s Leylah
Fernandez in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-4, 6-3. That victory
was even more special considering that she started the competition through the
qualifying round.
