The days of qualifying for events are over for
Emma Raducanu as the Brit is ranked well inside the top 30 however she might need to do it a final time for the
Indian Wells Masters.
Emma Raducanu qualified for the US Open after winning 3 matches before the main draw of the US Open and that suited her well. By the time the main draw started Raducanu was familiar with the conditions with plenty of confidence to continue her run. It ended with her lifting the US Open trophy in a sensational twist of events that nobody saw coming.
That allowed her to jump 127 spots on the ranking to number 23 which meant that her qualyfying days were over. However, she faces possible qualifications for the Indian Wells Masters as the entry list for the event is based on rankings and points before the US Open. The only way she will avoid qualification is if the organizers award her a wild card entry.
So far the wild cards have not been announced but there is a very high chance that Raducanu receives one of them. As a reigning grand slam champion, it would be odd for Raducanu to have to go through the qualies in order to enter the main draw of the event. Fans will surely want to see her in the main draw and the event might just make their wishes come true.
