Emma Raducanu is continuing her meteoric rise after bursting onto the scene at Wimbledon with a WTA final appearance in Chicago losing to Tauson.
Emma Raducanu won over more than just British tennis fans with her sensational maiden appearance at Wimbledon. She captured even more sympathies with the way her run came to an end but the young British teenager is continuing her meteoric rise. At a WTA 125K event in Chicago, Raducanu played great all week long eventually reaching the final.
In the final, she faced off against another teen phenom in Clara Tauson from Denmark and the final proved to be a very entertaining affair. The Danish player came out furious winning the first set with 6-1 before Raducanu came back to take the 2nd with 6-1. In the final one Raducanu was up a break early in the 3rd set but simply could not hold on against the more experience Tauson.
The Danish player already won a WTA 250 title earlier in the year in Lyon becoming the 2nd youngest player behind Coco Gauff to be ranked in the top 100. The British player will jump 24 places on the WTA Rankings entering the top 150 for the first time in her career. She will be ranked 150th tomorrow.
