Britain’s tennis star
Emma Raducanu has expressed satisfaction
after producing the goods for the team in the
Billie Jean King Cup. The 21-year-old
has recently returned to action after a gap of more than one year as she
struggled with numerous fitness concerns in the recent past.
Raducanu recently took part in the competition where she
played a big role in helping the side in securing the place in the finals where
she ended up saving a couple of match points as well against the France’s Diane
Parry. The former world number 10 was quoted after the match where she stated
that it feels good and especially mentioned how she has worked behind the scenes
in order to produce performances like that in the recent past.
“Yeah it does, it does [feel good]," she said, "I
think I need to shout out Ian at home who has been working with me every single
day in the last recovery since surgery. I think to be able to put two matches
like that back-to-back, three sets and on clay against really top opponents. It’s
just a testament to the work we’ve been doing and I knew it would pay off
eventually so I’m very pleased that this weekend it was able to show."
