Emma Raducanu retires sending Jelena Ostapenko into the Seoul final

Emma Raducanu was close to making her first final this year but an injury late in the match prevented her from finishing it.

Raducanu started off the match well and with a lot of ambition. Her first final of the season was on the line and despite dropping her serve first the Brit was able to battle back and making the score tied at 2-2. Towards the end of the opening set, Raducanu was able to establish control of rallies and outhit Ostapenko which is quite the achievement 6-4.

The second set started well for Raducanu as she took a 2-1 lead with a break up but somewhere around there she started to struggle. Ostapenko pulled back the break and Emma took a medical timeout but continue to battle.

It was impossible to stop Ostapenko who caught fire at the right time and started hitting more and more winners. She took a 5-2 lead and finished it off 6-3. The start of the second set indicated that Raducanu was in big trouble and when Ostapenko took a 3-0 lead the Brit retired.
