Emma Raducanu became the biggest star in tennis over a span of two weeks at the 2021 US Open. After a brilliant campaign that crowned her as a teenage Grand Slam winner, Raducanu has endured a bit of a tricky spell. First, she announced a split with her coach, something negatively received in the tennis community after which she easily lost her first match after the US Open.
Amidst all of that, Raducanu is currently on the lookout for a new coach, which is something that will take time due to the importance of the decision. The next coach will get to tutor her moving forward and that will have direct consequences on her career which is why the Brit is taking her time. The only requirement for the coaching position is extensive WTA experience and many candidates have thrown their names into the mix.
However credible sources in England are reporting that the coaching search is stalling a bit due to concerns over salary. Sources claim that Raducanu and her team have concern over the 'huge salary' asked by several candidates. The team is not happy with the high demands but the gig will be heavily scrutinized, especially if results are lacklustre. It remains to be seen what will happen but some of the names mentioned are Argentinian Carlos Rodriguez, Australian Darren Cahill and Spaniard Esteban Carril.
