Britian’s young tennis star
Emma Raducanu has hit back at
criticism over change of coaches. The 21-year-old has received sever criticism
after changing multiple coaches over the years.
Recently, Raducanu has been criticised by three-time Grand
Slam winner Ann Jones. In a post on her official account on the social media platform
Instagram, the Toronto-born has hit back at criticism.
Raducanu broke onto the scene in 2021 when she lifted the US
Open after beating Canada’s Leylah Fernandez in the final with a score of 6-4,
6-3. That victory was a more special one considering Raducanu started the competition
through the qualifying stage. However, since then, not much went right for Raducanu who has
struggled to keep the winning momentum going. One of the primary reasons is the
fitness concerns because of which the former world number managed to play in
just one out of the four Grand Slams in 2023.
Interestingly, Raducanu has not managed to play in the third
round or beyond of any major event ever since winning the US Open in 2021. This
year, the one-time Grand Slam winner played in just the Australian Open where
she was knocked out after losing the second-round tie to America’s Coco Gauff in
straight sets with a score of 6-3, 7-6.
