Eugenie Bouchard recently returned to tennis after shoulder surgery and she got a wild card into the WTA event in Chennai.
The event will run from September 12th till September 28th with Bouchard being one of the two wild cards announced so far. The other is Indian native Ankita Raina who is the highest ranked player from that country.
Bouchard recently returned to tennis at the Vancouver tennis event but she lost to Arianne Hartono 2-6 2-6. It's a long road ahead for Bouchard but she is adamant about returning to tennis and playing as best as she can.
The Canadian had a small resurgence prior to her shoulder injury but had to wait for the end of August to play her first match of the year.
