Former British No.1 Laura Robson believes Raducanu's time working on fitness has worked: "Physically she looks a lot stronger

Former British number one Laura Robson praised Raducanu's work ethic as she noted that the British player looks much stronger compared to last year.

Raducanu dedicated herself to the gym for two months in order to strengthen her body ahead of another long tennis season. She wasn't very lucky with injuries last year but also wasn't well prepared for the taxing nature of a long tennis season. She changed that this year and her compatriot Robson noted that after Raducanu's opening-round win over Korpatsch.

Speaking for Eurosport, the analyst said:

"For me physically she looks a lot stronger physically than what she has done, probably since the US Open to be honest. In the pre-season, she's done a huge amount of work in the gym, so I think she's just really relaxed coming into this one. She's taken all the pressure off herself given the injury coming in she didn't know how she was going to play so I think she just enjoyed herself."
