The former world number one
Karolina Pliskova has parted ways
with her coach Sascha Bajin after a series of poor results.
The 31-year-old has been going through a rough patch in the
year 2023 where she has only won 19 out of 33 matches, suffering 14 defeats in
the process.
Therefore, as per the latest report, Pliskova has decided to part ways with her coach. The
development was announced by Bajin himself on Twitter.
“Hey @KaPliskova thanks for giving it another go with me. Thank
you for all the fun moments and memories created. All the best from me to you
and good luck at the US Open. Hope you get your slam 🙏🏽💪🏽
Let’s see what’s next for me 🤔 Any suggestions guys?,”
he tweeted.
This is not the first time when Pliskova and Bajin parted
ways. They did that back after Wimbledon 2022 but soon reunited.
Despite becoming the world number one back in July 2017, the
Louny-born has never won a Grand Slam title in her career.
Her best outings in the major events were reaching the final of Wimbledon — in 2021
— and the US Open in 2016 and on both occasions, she end on the losing side.
In New York, it was Germany’s Angelique Kerber who got the
better of her with a score of 6–3, 4–6, 6–4.
Later in 2021, it was former world number one Australia's Ashleigh Barty
who came out on top in the final of Wimbledon with a score of 6–3, 6–7(4–7), 6–3.
