Coco Gauff won her second US Open match by beating Timea Babos 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 and improving her Grand Slam record to 5-1.

Gauff started the game comfortably when she managed to win the first set 6-2, what certainly gave her the necessary confidence. Although in the second set it was the American who had the chance to take the opponent's serve first, it was Babos who broke Gauff's service and won the second set 6-4.
In the third set, the Hungarian had 4 opportunities to take the opponent's serve, but did not convert any, while Gauff used her third breakball and also the first matchball and advanced to the third round.
"It was great," Coco said. "I thought that the first set, I definitely was in control. In the second set, [Babos] raised her level and I wasn't able to finish the set. But she played amazing. I thought I played well, too. It was a great match."
Coco also commented on the stress and pressure currently being exerted on her. She's only a 15-years-old, but she's doing great, and of course everyone is interested in her.
"When you first walk out on Armstrong in general, it's a nervous feeling. So I'm glad that I was able to get through that first round. So today I was prepared and knew what to expect. I think that helped me in today's match."
In the next round, Gauff meets Osaka. The two players have not yet met at the WTA circuit. This will be a match of two young players who have performed great at the Grand Slam tournaments. Osaka defends the title at the US Open, while Gauff is a wild card holder who wants to surprise her more experienced opponents.
"Obviously [Osaka is] an amazing player," said Gauff. "She's defending champion, she's won two Slams. She's No.1, she's only 21. We're both pretty young, but I'm a little bit newer to the game. So I'm just curious to see how my game matches up against her. Obviously I want to win. I just want to enjoy it, have fun, enjoy the battle. We'll see how it goes."
"I think she's just a super sweet person on and off the court," Gauff continued, regarding Osaka. "She competes great out there. I think she shows us how to compete and the way to be off the court, too."
