2019 US Open Women's Results, Day 4: Defending champion Osaka set to face brilliant Gauff, Andreescu eases past Flipkens

One of the ties of the US Open third round was confirmed on Thursday with Naomi Osaka, the defending champion set to face off against Coco Gauff.
Osaka eased past Magda Linette who has been in great form as of late in a 6-2, 6-4 victory; while Gauff similarly faced Timea Babos who has been playing really well on her return to form.
Despite that it was the 15 year old ace who keeps making a name for herself who will take on the World Number 1. She ended up winning in a 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory.
Another top tie of the next round was also set up with Bianca Andreescu easing past Kirsten Flipkens. She will next face number 19 seed Caroline Wozniacki who had to come back to defeat Danielle Collins 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
It is the continuation of a brilliant season so far for Andreescu who is now into the top 10 in the live rankings after seeing off the experienced Belgian.
With Simona Halep also heading out as well who was due to meet Andreescu later on, it could yet be a golden tournament for the 19-year old.
