Coco Gauff and
Jessica Pegula had to go to three sets to take down the Fruhvirtova sisters in Miami but they got it done 6-3 4-6 10-6 to move on.
Gauff and Pegula are among some of the biggest tennis stars in the world and they're very effective doubles pairing however the Fruhvirtova sisters gave them quite a match. The Americans were the heavy favourites but they had some moments where they struggled against the Czech pairing.
The match was very entertaining from the start as we saw both teams have good moments. Pegula and Gauff rolled away with the first set 6-3 but it was quite competitive in all of the game. The serve was a bit of an issue for the Czech players but that was expected due to their age. The second set saw them improve on the serve and it made all the difference.
After a heavy battle in the first part of the set, the Czech players were able to get the upper hand in the second part. They took it 6-4 to force a decider. The experience of Pegula and Gauff ultimately prevailed in the final set as they took an early 2-0 lead and then built upon that to finish it off 10-6.
