Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula are back to winning doubles matches as the duo added another win to their tally taking down Dabrowski and Stefani 6-4 3-6 10-5 to advance to the Madrid Open semi-finals.
The American pairing has been one of the best doubles pairings in the world and they are proving it on clay as well. It's been going well for them in Madrid and they are now in the semi-finals after a solid win over Dabrowski and Stefani.
They faced some minor issues in the match having to save break points but managed to do that and then closed out the first set 6-4.
The second set saw both teams having to save some early break points as the match was really competitive. Eventually, Gauff and Pegula dropped their serve which caused them to fall behind 3-5 and then they dropped the serve once more to lose the set 3-6. The final set was a decider played until a team reached ten points.
Gauff and Pegula did that 10-5 thanks to some really clutch play down the line. The teams were head to head early on but slowly Pegula and Gauff pulled away eventually sealing the deal.
