Eugenie Bouchard made her return to tennis at the Odlum Brown VanOpen and was given quite the surprise upon her arrival in Vancouver.
The 28-year-old was left searching for an explanation when her tournament credentials a photo of her in a swimsuit rather than the typically used headshot. The swimsuit picture was taken back in 2018 as part of Sports Illustrated's cover shoot.
However, the 2014 Wimbledon runner-up saw the funny side of the situation, taking to social media to post an image of the tournament pass.
"Can someone from @vanopentennis credential office explain pls??" Bouchard wrote on Instagram with a laughing emoji.
The former World No. 5, who became the first Canadian to advance to a singles Grand Slam final at Wimbledon in 2014, received a new pass with a new photo shortly after. Apparently, the VanOpen player credentialing office was pranking the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Alum and had the new photo on standby.
