Eugenie Bouchard will be in action in Portugal as the Canadian received a wild card entry into the Oeiras event next week where she'll join Elina Svitolina in the draw.
The Oieras event has been a smaller popular event for years hosting primarily men's tennis in the challenger format. The court is one of the more unique ones you'll see in the tennis world and this year we'll see WTA tennis there as well. An ITF event will be staged next week with players like Svitolina playing.
The Ukranian is looking to find a good level in smaller events before tackling the bigger ones and Bouchard is of a similar mind. The Canadian will join her in the main draw as she announced in a video. In the video, Bouchard said:
"Hey everyone. I'm so excited to finally come back to Portugal and play in the Oeiras Ladies Open. It's been so long and I can't wait to see you all."
