Anett Kontaveit on her return from injury: “I know my ranking dropped but I still can beat everybody when I'm playing well. The goal is to be healthy at the moment.”
Estonian tennis star Anett Kontaveit had been inactive on the WTA circuit due to a back injury, but remains positive about her ability on the tennis court.
The former World No.2 had been out of action since a round of 16 loss in Abu Dhabi this February, and suffered a significant rankings drop, which has seen her fall to World No.69.
Nonetheless, Kontaveit has not lost confidence, and in a recent interview stated she could still defeat anyone on tour when she's playing well.
"I know my ranking dropped but I still can beat everybody when I'm playing well," said the 27-year old. "Goal is to be healthy at the moment".
Kontaveit made her return to the court this week at the Billie Jean King Cup, where she recorded a 6-1 6-2 win over Isabella Kruger to clinch a win for Estonia against South Africa.
