Barty surprisingly decided to retire from the sport despite not even turning 30 in early 2023. She ended her career by winning three major titles. Her first major title was the French Open in 2019 where she defeated Czech Republic’s Marketa Vondrousova in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 6-3.
Barty, who also became the world number one in 2019, then went on to win Wimbledon in 2021 after beating Czech Republic’s Karolina Pliskova with a score of 6–3, 6–7(4–7), 6–3. In 2022, the Ipswich-born won the Australian Open after getting the better of America’s Danielle Collins with a score of 6–3, 7–6.
On the other hand, Dellacqua retired in 2018 after struggling with fitness concerns. She did not have a great record while playing in the singles category where she never managed to play in the quarterfinal or beyond in any of the Grand Slams.
However, in the doubles category, Dellacqua played in the final of all four Grand Slams but unfortunately, on every occasion, she ended on the losing side.
