The 2022 Guadalajara Open was upgraded to a WTA 1000 event that will run from October 17th till October 23rd.
The event will see the majority of best players taking part because it proves a great chance to earn a big chunk of points before the WTA Finals. Paula Badosa is one of those players that need the point in order to secure the WTA finals for another year and she has some experience playing in Guadalajara last year. She went to the final and lost to Muguruza.
The Spaniard leads the entry list as of today followed by Kontaveit, Sabalenka, Sakkari, Gauff, Garcia and many more. Two players are notably absent and it's Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur as neither is confirmed to take part at the event as of now.
