Simona Halep looked impressive at the Gippsland Trophy but seemed bothered by a back issue in her match against Ekaterina Alexandrova which she lost.
Ahead of the start of the Australian Open all major top players have given press conferences as they usually do. Among them was naturally Simona Halep who was asked about the back issue. Her response:
"Yesterday I struggled a little bit from the air-conditioning with my low back. The muscle got a little bit blocked. But I did some treatment last night, this morning, so I'm getting better now."
Halep admitted it was a thing she dealt with in the past and because of that she isn't worried it will impact her too much:
"It's nothing dangerous. I'm used to it because it happens when it's that cold. I had it also last year in the French Open because it was cold outside. So I'm not very worried, but I'm taking care of it."
The conversation turned to lighter themes then with Halep being asked where does she keep all her trophies and she said:
“I display in my parents' house. I have all the trophies there. I don't have in my house in Bucharest because I live in a different city. But I keep [them] all together. I like any trophy, doesn't matter which place it is.”
