Coco Gauff recently attended Tyler, the Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw music festival at Dodger Stadium. The reigning WTA Finals champion took advantage of her off-season to visit the rapper's event for the second consecutive year, someone she has admired since her teenage years.
The world No. 3 shared a carousel of photos from her experience at the Los Angeles festival. The 2023 US Open champion received a mention in one of Tyler's songs, Thought I Was Dead, from the 2-time Grammy winner.
"That was really cool. I was not expecting it," Gauff shared during Media Day at the WTA Finals in Riyadh. "It was crazy because he DM’d me congratulations after the China Open [which Gauff won in early October]. We had never talked or anything before. He liked my photo or something when I won the US Open.
"Then my boyfriend said, 'Watch, he's going to mention you in a song.' I was like, 'Yeah, that would be insane. That's never going to happen.’" She added, "Three weeks later, it happened. I was like, 'Can he see into the future or what?'"
During the event, Gauff recorded a TikTok video for her fans when Tyler mentioned her name live during the song. “Hearing my name live was insane,” she captioned.
