Hubert Hurkacz has surprised many by partnering with Agnieska Radwanska as his new coach. According to Tennisnet, the World No. 8 will incorporate his compatriot, who aims to guide him to his first Grand Slam.

Hurkacz will be the only player within the top 100 to have a female coach, a rare sight on the ATP Tour. Earlier this year, when Djokovic parted ways with Goran Ivanisevic, it was suggested that Nole might bring Amelie Mauresmo or Conchita Martinez into his team, following a report from Kurir Sport.

Mauresmo had successfully worked with Andy Murray, who admitted years ago that he faced criticism from colleagues for having a female coach. Mauresmo also worked with Lucas Pouille back in 2019.

In 2023, Radwanska was the captain of the Polish United Cup team, leading both Hurkacz and Iga Swiatek. She wasn’t the only female captain in that tournament, joining Iva Majoli (Croatia), Gisela Dulko (Argentina), Kirsten Flipkens (Belgium), and Samantha Stosur (Australia). For the 2024 edition, only Majoli returned as captain for Croatia.

The former World No. 2 had a successful career on the WTA Tour, winning 20 titles, including the 2015 WTA Finals, and reaching the Wimbledon final in 2012, where she lost to Serena Williams.

Regarding her partnership with Hurkacz, Radwanska expressed her desire to achieve the highest accomplishments with the 27-year-old player: "I'm very positive about this partnership. I think Hubert was wasting his potential, and I want to help him. Hopefully, I'll lead him to his first Grand Slam title,” Radwanska said.

🚨BREAKING NEWS!!!🚨 Master Agnieszka Roma Radwańska will be announced as Hubert Hurkacz's new coach. She said: "I'm very positive about this partnership. I think Hubert was wasting his potential and i want to help him. Hopefully I'll lead him to his first Grand Slam title".
