Iga Swiatek stormed into the 3rd round of the
US Open by beating Sloane Stephens easily in two sets and she was happy about it.
It was a very good and complete match from Swiatek who dominated the rallies and exploited every weakness Stephens has. Playing a practice match against her in Cincinnati certainly helped in that and she loved playing on Ashe.
It was the first time she played on the legendary court and she was very happy about it:
"I just tried to have the same kind of motivation and attitude as on any other court as it's the best way for me to perform well but for sure it’s a lot. It’s a dream come true. I remember when I was a junior and I came on the highest stand to watch Serena [Williams]."
She continued:
"I remember these matches were great for me to watch. And just being in the stadium here, downstairs, not up there is awesome so yeah. I'm really happy with all the progress I have made."
