Rick Macci
expressed interest in working with
Emma Raducanu, stating that he can help her
"win again and again." The former coach of Serena Williams has
praised the 2021 US Open champion multiple times and, through social media,
conveyed his interest in collaborating with Raducanu, believing he can assist
her in improving her results.
The young
British player rose to prominence in the tennis world after her incredible
campaign at Flushing Meadows, where she, coming from the qualifying rounds,
clinched the trophy by winning ten consecutive matches, all in straight sets.
However,
Raducanu struggled to maintain the same level and had an inconsistent 2022,
facing several injuries that kept her away from the WTA Tour. This year, she
last played at the Stuttgart Open, where she exited in the second round against
Jelena Ostapenko.
Following
that, she announced that she would be taking some time off to undergo surgery
on both wrists and return physically stronger. Nevertheless, Raducanu has
confirmed her comeback in 2024, although without a specific date.
Rick Macci
recently expressed his desire on social media to advise Raducanu and her team,
although he clarified that it wouldn't be in the capacity of traveling with her
as her coach.
"During
a podcast was discussing @EmmaRadacanu and helping her. I talked to her agent
and told him I can help her team but I am not a travel coach. I assist many
players and coaches on both tours and if this young lady is mentally All In I
can help her Win Again and Again."
"Was
asked about @EmmaRaducanu during an interview. If she is Locked Loaded and
ready to Launch mentally then she 100% can be in the top ten again by the end
of 2025. You do not lose the Skill but you 100% need the Will," Macci
added.
