Venus Williams won her first-round matchup at
Wimbledon and it was a milestone win for Venus who played at her 90th Grand Slam and 23rd Wimbledon.
It was a good showing from Venus who defeated Buzarnescu in three sets and the 41-year old American moves to the 2nd round. There she will face Ons Jabeur and asked about her she said:
"Ons is one of my favourite players on tour. She is inspiring so many people including me. She will bring a whole new generation of players from North Africa."
Venus was also asked about continuing to play tennis despite her age and she just explained she embraces the challenge of it and it's what she's good at:
"I don't know. I'm good at what I do and you can't win them all. Life is a lot of challenges."
Conversation shifted towards her playing on a smaller court as 5x winner but Venus said:
"I don't really care on which court I play as long as I win. It's a nice court and I have good memories of it so it was like coming home."
