"I gave it all but that's sports" - Jabeur deeply disappointed after early Roland Garros exit

Ons Jabeur appeared firmly in control against Magda Linette in the opening round of Roland Garros but she got beaten in three sets.

It was a very strange match because initially, Jabeur seemed to have all the answers. She attacked very well and looked very similar to the Jabeur that won Madrid and reached the Rome final. She was one of the favourites to win Roland Garros however she played with her food. She gave Linette time to find her rhythm and once she won the 2nd set the Polish player was full of confidence.

Speaking after the match, Jabeur said:

"It was tough today. I gave it all and she had her momentum on court, she didn't give me too many options and I felt that she had response to, she had an answer to all my shots and she played very well in the important moments... I wanted to go as far as I could in the tournament because I played well on clay in Madrid and in Rome, and it's difficult to take that one in. But that's what sport is like and you need to be smart enough to move forward and get back on court."

After this early French Open exit, Jabeur is set to drop some points before the season shifts to the grass.
