“I love my trophy, but I've had enough of it for some time now" - Linda Noskova jokes about Wimbledon silverware as more success beckons

Linda Noskova's Wimbledon triumph has had a few weeks to settle in following a brilliant battle against fellow countrywoman and good friend Karolina Muchova. Her incredible form earned her the Venus Rosewater Dish, but the 21-year-old has since revealed that she has 'had enough of it' following a prolonged time period looking at it in her living room.

Noskova was utterly dominant on grass. Winning the Berlin Ladies Open title, she went to Wimbledon in brilliant form and was determined to make a statement run. She did that and then some with a variety of magnificent performances, out-gunning her opponents to set up an all-Czech final.

Following a nervy blip in the second set, she was able to get back on her feet with incredible mentality and saw it out expertly to seal a maiden Grand Slam title in the best result of her very young career in the sport.

The World No.7 took home a replica of the trophy, with the original one staying put at the All England Club. Noskova explained where she left it while admitting that there were no problems in leaving it behind for a prolonged stint in North America.

“I love my trophy, but I've had enough of it for some time now. It's in my living room, yeah, it's on the display. I'm looking at it whenever I can, so it's there," she commented ahead of participating in her first tournament since that Wimbledon success in the form of the Canadian Open.

While Noskova has not participated in any other events since the Grand Slam glory, she has been extremely busy with the spotlight firmly on her. Especially in her native Czech Republic where all the attention has surrounded her following becoming the latest Czech winner at SW19.

“I did do a lot of things that I had to do, media-wise, especially in Czech Republic. There was a lot of just running around doing the media," she said, reminiscing and reflecting on the three weeks since becoming a major champion.

She did have some much-needed time off. “But for me, I definitely had to find some time to kind of find my vacation as well. I did spend a few days in Italy, which was nice. I did see my family. So it was kind of a mix of all the crazy things with all the chill things.”

This, however, may just be the start of a glorious tennis career for Noskova. She had been threatening to make that ultimate breakthrough at the top of the sport for some time now. An Australian Open quarter-final run in 2024 showcased the abundance of potential she had with a final defeat at the 2025 China Open proving that she had the capabilities to go deep in the biggest tournaments.

There is still more to come from the youngster. Before the grass swing, Noskova had collected just one title from six finals. Now boosted her tally to three, the North American hardcourt swing is her next chance to add to her tally.

“It's something that I have always worked for, that I have played my tennis my whole life for," she said. "It did take me, I would say like a week, maybe 10 days, to actually realise it. Maybe I will not realise it a hundred per cent, you know?”

Wimbledon may not be the pinnacle of her career, only the beginning. “It's always just one of those big things that actually happen and you're not, you know, preparing yourself for that, it's kind of like a big shocker. But you have to restart and keep going, it's not the end of the world.

“I had to tell myself that, like I said, it is not the end of the world. My career is not ending here, it is hopefully only starting. Winning a Grand Slam is, you know, an unreal thing. But at the same time, I'm still 21, I feel like since I accomplished this so soon, I feel like it's even a bigger motivation for me to keep going.”

Noskova will be one of the favourites to win the Canadian Open. She will be raring to get back onto the court with the Cincinnati Open and US Open following in suit. It also marks another chance to rise up the rankings ahead of an Asian swing where there is pressure to defend.
