Coco Gauff has taken on a more active role in speaking out about various different things in today's society and Jabeur loves it.
The need for athletes to speak on things has always been there but most of them opted against it due to the backlash. A new generation of athletes is embracing their platform and their senior colleagues are loving it. Naomi Osaka did a lot of great things for the topic of mental health in tennis as Kyrgios noted often after going public with his own struggles.
Jabeur, who many consider a trailblazer in her own right wrote a piece for Arab News where she discussed the importance of speaking up:
"It’s important to me to use my platform to speak about things I believe in. But I also have to be very careful because some people can misunderstand my views. I think if you decide to stand up for what you believe in, you have to accept that there will be a lot of people that can criticize you for that, which is very powerful to understand at that stage."
She mentioned Coco Gauff praising her for what he's been doing:
"I love what Coco Gauff is doing, I love what so many players are doing with their platform. Definitely, I want to get more involved and speak up about so many things and help my country more."
