Ash Barty turned around a difficult first set plagued with errors to secure victory against Lesia Tusrenko in the Australian Open first round.
The Australian star said she's frustrated with the errors she made in the Australian Open first-round against Lesia Tsurenko.
The current world no 1's victory over Tsurenko was a little bit difficult than she anticipated.
And she said pressing a little bit early was the reason she made those errors. However, she's happy she was able to able to rectify her mistakes at the start of the second set and go on to beat her opponent.
“I was frustrated that I wasn't hitting the ball in the court when I wanted to. I think I was aiming for big targets and missing by quite a bit, which I wasn't comfortable with, I wasn't happy with,” Barty said.
“Being able to kind of rectify that and fix that so quickly at the start of the second set was really important.
“I think I was pressing a little bit early. Made a few too many errors. Was able to tighten the screws in the second set and run away with it.”
Barty will face Polona Hercog in the second round of the Australian Open on Wednesday.
