World number one
Iga Swiatek believes that it will be ‘interesting’
to have the ‘Battle of Surfaces’ against Belarus’
Aryna Sabalenka. The two are
often called as the best players currently playing in the women’s singles
category.
Swiatek is currently taking part in the
Rome Open where she
has already booked her place in the semifinal after beating Madison Keys in straight
sets with a score of 6-1, 6-3. The Warsaw-born, after the match, while giving
an interview on the Tennis Channel stated that it will be very ‘interesting’ to
have a the ‘Battle of Surfaces’ with Sabalenka and also admitted that she has to
improve her play on grass surface where her win percentage is just 68 percent,
the lowest out of all the surfaces.
"You know, it’s about movement,” she said. But on the
other hand, it’s, it’s about, you know, how the ball is going to bounce. So,
yeah, it would be really great, you know, for this kind of event to happen, in
the women’s game. I think it would be interesting, but I got to work on my
grass games anyway. Yeah, but I’m happy, you know, that we’re here, and, I feel
pretty comfortable on clay so I’m using that for sure."
