American tennis star
Sloane Stephens hosted a Q&A session with fans on Instagram recently, during which she delved into the process of freezing her eggs and establishing a big family.
Stephens, who is currently married to MLS footballer Jozy Altidore, previously announced she had frozen her eggs in the off-season. The 30-year old was initially vague on her reasoning behind the decision, but opened up during the Q&A session.
"My first time went well, I plan on doing it again in the off-season," revealed Stephens. "It's really the only available time, I know what to expect this next time around, so I'll plan my schedule a bit differently and be able to adjust for the upcoming season accordingly. Family planning is great and I highly recommend egg freezing if it is feasible."
Stephens has expressed her desire to have a large family, but admitted she was overcome with anxiety about the thought of giving birth.
"I've always said I want to carry a baby, have a surrogate and adopt," she said. "I want a lot of kids, but we will see what happens."
