Iga Swiatek leads the field in WTA Race as Danielle Collins makes surprising move into the top 5

Polish star Iga Swiatek has had a stellar first half of the WTA season, already amassing over 5,000 ranking points as she attempts to win her fourth Roland Garros title over the next two weeks in Paris.

The World No.1 is coming off consecutive victories in Madrid and Rome, and is on the verge of recreating history in Paris. Should Swiatek prevail at Roland Garros, she will become only the second player after WTA legend Serena Williams to have won the Triple Crown, which is equivalent to winning the Rome-Madrid double followed by the French Open.

Swiatek currently leads her colleagues in the WTA Race, sitting at the top with 5,335 points. The 22-year old has a healthy 1,407 point lead over Aryna Sabalenka, who holds the No.2 spot. Kazakh star Elena Rybakina sits in third position, with 3,593 points.

However, American veteran Danielle Collins is a shocking entrant at No.4 in the WTA Race. After announcing she would be retiring by the end of the season, the 30-year old has displayed some of the best tennis of her career. Collins won consecutive titles at the Miami Open and Charleston, before reaching the semifinals of Rome and finishing runner-up at last week's event in Strasbourg. The American sits at No.4 with 2,857 points, ahead of compatriot Coco Gauff who rounds out the top five with 2,383. Below is the list of the top 50 entrants in the WTA Race.
