Iga Swiatek entered Wimbledon with low expectations but her play so far has been very good. She won another match today against experienced veteran Vera Zvonareva who has struggled on the grass in the past few years. She came out with a fury in the first set being very aggressive and going for winners. She hit most of them and accumulated 10 in total in the first set which she won with 6-1.
Zvonareva could not handle the aggressive playstyle and committed too many errors. She was a little bit better in the 2nd set but Swiatek once again took an early lead which allowed her to play relaxed. In that situation, she applied the pressure and was able to hit several winners.
That allowed her to go up a double break but when she served for the match she got broken but she came right back to break Zvonareva once again which sealed the deal with 6-1 6-3.
