Iga Swiatek signs up for Africa Cares Tennis Challenge in Johannesburg

Iga Swiatek will take part in the Africa Cares Tennis Challenge joining players like Halep, Stephens, Venus Williams, and Martina Hingis.

The event is a charity event that will run from December 18th till December 19th in Johannesburg. The format will be a hybrid one as its an exhibition event several big tennis names have signed up to take part in the event including Simona Halep, Sloane Stephens, Venus Williams, and Martina Hingis. Swiatek has been showing her philanthropic side more recently noting how important that is to her.

Swiatek donated a total of $50,000 to two non-profit health organizations:

"It’s the first time I commit a bigger amount of money to support a purpose that is relevant to me. My decision was spontaneous. World Mental Health Day, my win that day, Daria’s birthday, the fact that exactly one year ago I won a Grand Slam - impacted my decision. I asked you for help in choosing a non-profit organization providing mental health support."
