Iga Swiatek survives Niemeier to advance to the US Open quarterfinal

Iga Swiatek was a in tricky situation against Jule Niemeier but she was able to battle back and win the match 2-6 6-4 6-0.

Swiatek is not playing on the level she played earlier this year and everybody knows that. But the level of calmness the German demonstrated early, even in moments of pressure, was incredible. She was far better than Swiatek early in the match taking the opening set 6-2.

The second set was far more competitive as both players upped their aggressive playstyle however Swiatke was much sharper and Niemeier simply could not handle the pressure. She dropped her serve a couple of times and it was too much.

She broke back twice but wasn't able to do it a third time. After taking the second set, Swiatek completely took over the match easily smashing her opponent 6-0 in the final set. The German was simply all over the place in the final set losing all confidence.
