The WTA Finals have come to an end, marking the closure of the 2023 season, and fans have taken to social media to choose their favorite moments of the year with Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff as favourites.

The incredible year-end finale in Cancun, with Iga Swiatek winning the Finals by defeating Jessica Pegula and reclaiming the world No. 1 ranking, was undoubtedly one of the most memorable moments of the year.

Swiatek had near-total dominance in 2022 after Ash Barty's retirement, but a stellar year from Aryna Sabalenka, who clinched her first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, allowed her to briefly dethrone Swiatek from the top of the rankings after 75 weeks.

Sabalenka wasn't the only one to enjoy a fantastic year, as two new Grand Slam champions emerged in 2023: Marketa Vondrousova at Wimbledon and 19-years-old Coco Gauff at the US Open.

The Czech player was the surprise of SW19, becoming the first unseeded player to claim the title, defeating Ons Jabeur in the final, who lost her third consecutive Grand Slam final.

As for the young star Coco Gauff, during the hardcourt swing, she secured her first WTA 500 title, followed by her first WTA 1000 victory, and finally, she clinched her first Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows, defeating the world No. 1 at that time, Aryna Sabalenka, in the final.

Additionally, in the WTA 1000 tournaments, there were eight different champions in nine events. Elena Rybakina was the only one to achieve this feat twice, winning titles in Indian Wells and the Rome Open. The list of champions also included Swiatek, Gauff, Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Petra Kvitova, and Barbora Krejcikova.

Fans took to social media to share their favorite moments of the year, with a special focus on the Grand Slam finals and the WTA Finals:
