Russia’s tennis star Mirra Andreeva has revealed her primary objective for 2025. The 17-year-old is already regarded as one for the future and has already produced some incredible results on the court.

Andreeva has already started the 2025 season and is participating in the ongoing Brisbane International. She has already booked her spot in the quarterfinal after beating Linda Noskova in the round of 16 in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-0.

Andreeva was quoted in a report in which she talked about her objective for 2025. The Krasnoyarsk-born star stated that her primary goal is to finish the year amongst the top 10 players in women’s tennis.

“I’m really happy to be back in the quarterfinals here,” said Andreeva. “Last year she almost killed me in the quarter-finals. I was thinking it’s time to take my revenge. My number one goal for 2025 is to crack the top 10. So I’m just gonna do my best for this starting in Brisbane, from the first tournament of the season. I’m just gonna do my best and see if we can achieve this goal.”

Andreeva had an impressive outing in 2024, where she played in her maiden Grand Slam semifinal in the French Open. However, she lost to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-1. The youngster, who is currently ranked 16th in women’s tennis in the singles category, will face three-time Grand Slam runner-up Tunisia’s Ons Jabeur in the last-eight clash. The 30-year-old booked her place in the quarterfinal after beating Ekaterina Alexandrova in the round of 16 in straight sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2. It will be only the second meeting between the two. In the previous meeting, Andreeva came out on top in straight sets with a score of 6-0, 6-2.
