Friday in Rome was a very eventful day and we saw many great matches from many great players including Rafael Nadal and Simona Halep.
The Internazionali BNL d'Italia Rome courts saw 16 matches on Friday where we saw the top-seeded men's and top-seeded women's players play. This will be a short recap of all the matches that were played yesterday.
WTA
The WTA part of the event had a lot to offer yesterday but rarely any match was as impressive as the performance of Simona Halep. Joining her in good performances were Garbine Muguruza and Elina Svitolina who each booked a place in the quarterfinals. Karolina Pliskova continued her good run in Rome after a very disappointing US Open early exit. The full results:

The ATP didn't disappoint with its Thursday schedule as Matteo Berrettini opened it with a bang. He won his match and set the tone for the rest of the day which featured stellar performances from Dimitrov and Shapovalov. World number one Djokovic didn't disappoint either especially in his marathon 1st set against Krajinovic. The program was closed by thunderious performance from Nadal who defeated Lajovic.
