"It feels insane" - Gauff on fans chanting her name in New York

Coco Gauff is enjoying tremendous support from the New York crowd as she secured the quarterfinal at the US Open.

Gauff has already booked a spot in the top 10 with this run but she is eyeing a far bigger prize. The young American lost in the first round of the doubles event leaving all her time and energy for the singles event. Having played in the Roland Garros final earlier, Gauff hopes to do the same here and possibly win the event.

She was amazed by the support:

"In my head I was smiling. I can't believe you guys were chanting like that. That was crazy."

She continued:

"But honestly it doesn't really matter to be honest. The conditions felt the same other than the humidity. But I guess maybe the roof is closed is better for me if it's more humid because I feel like with my fitness and training - I'm from Florida - so the hotter the better."
