Pam Shriver closely following the action
The women's final at Wimbledon was a spectacle to behold. A stunning comeback was on the cards following an exciting second set, but it was Linda Noskova who stayed firm and got the title won against Karolina Muchova. Away from the action, Pam Shriver noticed that the ESPN had two men and one woman commentating the final, throwing in a misogynistic accusation.
After winning the first set in brilliant fashion, Noskova was pegged back following her taking a 5-2 lead. Muchova won the next five games while saving five championship points, but a costly three-game swing in the favour of Noskova was enough of a buffer for the 21-year-old to have as she saw the clash out, winning a first Grand Slam title in the process.
The match, which lasted almost two and a half hours, was gazed upon by a fully-packed Centre Court who most certainly got their money's worth. Henman Hill was also full to the brim with millions tuning in worldwide, especially from Czech Republic where a new star is born.

Shriver not impressed with ESPPN panel choices

Aside from the tennis, something else caught Shriver's eye. The three-time Wimbledon semi-finalist, who used to work for ESPN, was displeased about their choice of putting in two men and just one woman for the women's singles final.
Chris Flower and Mary Joe Fernandez were the main people on duty with Christopher Eubanks also pitching in with his expert analysis.
Not impressed, Shriver took to X to share her dismay surrounding the lack of women in the commentary booth. "Interesting ESPN has chosen two men and just one woman to call a Ladies’ final. The other day for women’s semis BBC had all female teams for both semi finals. Tomorrow will be all men calling men’s final. It’s a tough workplace for women. Great start for Noskova."
In contrast, the men's final will see an all-men panel fielded as world number one Jannik Sinner looks to reclaim his crown against the Roland Garros victor Alexander Zverev. This has caused for many people, including Shriver, to turn their heads at this decision. In contrast, BBC had two women in the form of Sam Smith and Tracy Austin providing updates alongside John McEnroe with Laura Robson and Naomi Broady analysing the tie court side and in the analysis area.
Following the match, Shriver once more went to X, this time to comment on the unbelievable tie, linking 18-time Grand Slam champion Martina Navratilova in it. "Navratilova and Noskova were both 21 when they won their first Wimbledon singles title. The emotions of Linda thinking back to her late mother, and then seeing Martina crying in the Royal Box while thinking of Chrissie… also thinking back to Novotna."
