Eugenie Bouchard is in Cluj where she'll take part in the Transylvania Open and she's embracing the chance to play there.
Bouchard made her return to tennis in recent weeks showing a very solid level overall, especially since she's been out for a long time. The Canadian received a wild card entry into this event and she took it immediately as he has a goal of playing as many matches as she possibly can.
"The plan was to do this European swing. I was in Ostrava last week. Getting a wild card here was obviously really motivating to come and play. I just want to play as many tournaments as I can before the season is over. I've only played like 5 tournaments so far."
Playing in Romania is something she has never done and that was also part of the reason why she chose to accept the wild card. It's a chance for her to experience something she hasn't before and those chances are rare the older she gets:
"I just want to play as much as possible. It was a great opportunity for me. It's always fun visiting a country I've never been to. It's pretty rare for me at this stage of my career. So, I really appreciate it now as I'm getting older."
